Some restaurants specialise in a type of cuisine, while others
use a diverse menu, catering for an international visitor. The
Udonya serves great Japanese food or why not try out the great
value restaurant, Chinese Unlimited. One can get French food at
the Cafe de Paris or Cafe du levant. Try Tex-Mex at Dixie station,
Indian at Dubb Indian Restaurant or Californian food at Sunset
Grill and bar. C. Fischer dishes out German cuisine, Rejans serves
Russian, Mia Mensa pleases with Italian and has a waterfront, and
the diverse menu of Kathisma and Changa serves dishes from different
parts of the world under the one roof.
MEAT & KEBABS
Kebab and Turkey seem to go hand in hand. They can be found everywhere
and a vast selection can be bought from all over the city. Ali
Baba in Arnavutkoy is a popular chow house. Over on the European
shore, Sark Sofrasi and Bursa Iskender in the middle of Beyoglu
are a treat, and Cumhuriyet Iskembe Salonu near the fish market
are worth a visit. Tarihi Selim Usta Sultanahmet koftecisi is
great for its meatballs and Tike is great for its lean lamb plates.
OTTOMAN STYLE CUISINE
The colours and flavours give the Ottoman style dish a fine taste
and one can try the following restaurants: Taste the delightful
Tugra at the Ciragan Palace in Besiktas, the Pandeli in Eminonu,
the Amedros in Sultanahmet, or Haci Abdullah in Beyoglu.
